Compress PDF to Under 100KB
Very small PDF size limits (100KB or less) are common on government portals, visa applications and older upload systems.
Achieving under 100KB:
- Text-only PDFs: easily achievable
- Image PDFs: very difficult without visible quality loss
- Scanned docs: challenging
Best approach:
- Use Extreme compression first
- If still too large, reduce image resolution before creating the PDF
- For scanned docs, scan at 150 DPI instead of 300 DPI
- Remove unnecessary pages using Split PDF first
Reality check: a PDF with photos cannot realistically compress below 100KB without severe quality loss. Text-only documents compress easily.
